Department: Estimation & Tendering Engineer
Qualification: B.Tech / B.E. in Civil Engineering
Experience: Minimum 4+ years of relevant experience in estimation, costing, and tendering of civil construction projects

Key Responsibilities

  1. Review tender documents, drawings, BOQs, technical specifications, and contract conditions in detail.
  2. Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil, structural, architectural, and finishing works.
  3. Carry out quantity take-offs from drawings and prepare detailed BOQs for various construction activities.
  4. Prepare rate analysis for labour, materials, machinery, equipment, overheads, and other project costs.
  5. Prepare competitive technical and commercial bids for government, PSU, and private-sector construction projects.
  6. Analyse tender requirements, eligibility criteria, scope of work, technical specifications, and contractual obligations.
  7. Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors for materials and specialized work packages.
  8. Prepare comparative statements and recommend suitable rates for tender pricing.
  9. Coordinate with the Procurement, Planning, Finance, Projects, and Management teams for tender inputs and cost data.
  10. Conduct site visits and participate in pre-bid meetings to understand project conditions, access constraints, resource requirements, and other cost implications.
  11. Prepare and submit technical documents, commercial bids, BOQs, method statements, project schedules, and other tender-related documents.
  12. Prepare pre-bid queries and coordinate for technical and commercial clarifications with clients and consultants.
  13. Monitor tender corrigenda, addenda, amendments, and submission date extensions and incorporate changes into the bid.
  14. Handle online e-tendering activities, including document preparation, uploading, and final bid submission.
  15. Coordinate for EMD, tender fees, Bank Guarantees, Performance Guarantees, and other bid-related requirements.
  16. Analyse project risks, escalation factors, market rates, site conditions, and contractual provisions before finalizing project costs.
  17. Support management during tender rate finalization, negotiations, reverse auctions, and post-bid clarifications.
  18. Prepare tender comparison reports, cost summaries, project profitability assessments, and management approval notes.
  19. Maintain updated databases of material rates, labour rates, equipment costs, subcontractor rates, and historical project cost data.
  20. Prepare project budgets and detailed cost break-ups for awarded projects and coordinate the handover of tender assumptions and cost data to the Project and Planning teams.
  21. Compare estimated costs with actual project costs and assist in identifying cost variances and improving future estimates.
  22. Maintain systematic records of submitted tenders, estimates, quotations, rate analyses, bid documents, and tender results.
