Role Overview

We are seeking a highly qualified and visionary Head of Academics with a strong background in Information Technology to lead and manage academic operations across WisGrad’s programs. The ideal candidate will hold a BTech in Information Technology and have a proven record of excellence in teaching and learning, assessments, and academic leadership. This role will drive academic innovation, tech-integrated delivery, curriculum quality, and student outcomes, ensuring alignment with WisGrad’s mission of accessible, world-class education.


Key Responsibilities

Academic Leadership:

  • Develop and implement academic strategies with a strong emphasis on teaching and learning innovation and digital integration.
  • Lead curriculum planning, instructional design, and academic policy development across all disciplines.
  • Ensure compliance with university partner standards and educational regulatory bodies.
  • Oversee academic calendar, delivery timelines, and learning outcomes mapping.

Teaching and Learning Excellence:

  • Promote evidence-based teaching practices and the use of instructional technology.
  • Lead initiatives to improve faculty teaching effectiveness and student engagement.
  • Champion blended and online learning strategies, especially in IT and STEM programs.

Assessment and Evaluation:

  • Design and monitor academic assessment frameworks, ensuring fairness, reliability, and validity across programs.
  • Guide faculty in the use of formative and summative assessments that support learning outcomes.
  • Analyze assessment data to inform academic improvements and accreditation readiness.

Quality Assurance and Enhancement:

  • Lead internal audits, academic reviews, and external accreditation processes.
  • Set academic KPIs including pass rates, retention, and progression—especially in tech-related programs.
  • Foster a continuous improvement culture driven by data and stakeholder feedback.

Faculty Management:

  • Recruit, develop, and appraise faculty with a focus on IT and digital pedagogy competencies.
  • Organize regular training, peer observations, and research support for academic staff.
  • Encourage scholarly output and teaching innovation.

Student Experience:

  • Collaborate with Student Affairs to ensure a holistic academic journey.
  • Oversee academic advising, student progression monitoring, and grievance redressal.
  • Implement technology-enabled feedback systems for course and faculty evaluation.

Partnership Management:

  • Liaise with international university partners to align academic delivery, assessments, and reporting.
  • Coordinate with external academic boards and manage quality audits and partner visits.

Innovation and Research:

  • Champion the integration of cutting-edge digital tools and research-informed teaching.
  • Promote applied research in IT, innovation, and interdisciplinary areas among faculty and students.

Strategic Planning and Reporting:

  • Contribute to institutional strategy, budget planning, and academic resource allocation.
  • Report regularly on academic performance, compliance, and strategic academic initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology (BTech IT) or relevant .
  • Master’s degree in education is required; PhD or Doctorate preferred.
  • 7–10 years of academic leadership experience in higher education, preferably with exposure to international academic standards.
  • Experience leading teaching and learning strategies, assessment frameworks, and digital learning implementation.
  • Familiarity with global accreditation, academic audits, and academic policy governance.
